Dear Colleague,
As you are no doubt aware, ILAC is one of the eight member organisations of the Joint Committee for Guides in Metrology (JCGM) along with BIPM, IEC, IFCC, ISO, IUPAC, IUPAP and OIML. As the JCGM is category A liaison activity Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated will replace ILAC on this Joint Committee in the New Year.
Please find attached two draft documents that are currently being circulated to members of the JCGM for comments.
The following provides a brief description of both documents:
JCGM GUM-5:202X: Guide to the expression of uncertainty in measurement — Part 5: Examples.
This document was prepared by the Working Group 1 of the JCGM. It was circulated for review amongst the eight member organisations on 9 December 2024.
JCGM 100:2008: Evaluation of measurement data — Guide to the expression of uncertainty in measurement. AMENDMENT 1: Non-linearity in measurement models.
This amendment was prepared by Working Group 1 of the JCGM. It was circulated for review amongst the eight member organisations on 30 July 2025.
JCGM Working Group 1 has reviewed and discussed the comments received on both documents and has revised texts accordingly to produce these Final Drafts, which are now being forwarded to each of the eight member organisations for approval.
We are therefore seeking comments from all ILAC members by 9 January, 2026. ILAC will collate and forward the consolidated responses to JCGM by the due date of 16 January, 2026. Please provide them by replying to this email.
