ILAC, IAF/ILAC and Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated General Assemblies 2025

From October 15 to October 24, 2025, the last ever IAF/ILAC and ILAC General Assemblies and 2nd Global Accreditation Cooperation General Assembly were held in Bangkok. The meeting was attended by the head of the Accreditation Body, Ivan Vladimirovich Boldyrev, and his deputy, Olga Alexandrovna Eroshina.

The work on the merger of IAF and ILAC into a single organization Global Accreditation Cooperation Inc. has been completed, ILAC ceases to exist in April 2026, and the ILAC MRA mark remains on the market for at least another 3 years, then it will be replaced by the mark of the new cooperation.

Members elected Mr. Brahim Houla from the GCC Accreditation Center, Saudi Arabia as the Chair-elect and Mr. Emanuele Riva from Accredia, Italy as the Vice Chair-elect.

Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated was formally registered as an Incorporated Society on 6 December 2024 under the New Zealand Incorporated Societies Act 2022.

The new single international accreditation organisation, Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated, is the international organisation of accreditation bodies, stakeholders, and regional cooperation bodies. It is registered in New Zealand as a Not-For-Profit, Incorporated Society.

As you are no doubt aware, ILAC is one of the eight member organisations of the Joint Committee for Guides in Metrology (JCGM) along with BIPM, IEC, IFCC, ISO, IUPAC, IUPAP and OIML. As the JCGM is category A liaison activity Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated will replace ILAC on this Joint Committee in the New Year.
