World Accreditation Day 2026 World Accreditation Day was established by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) following a joint decision in 2007 to create a dedicated global day recognising the value of accreditation. Celebrated each year on 9 June, WAD has become a global platform for the accreditation community to showcase how accreditation builds confidence in products, services and systems worldwide.

Please find attached two draft documents that are currently being circulated to members of the JCGM As you are no doubt aware, ILAC is one of the eight member organisations of the Joint Committee for Guides in Metrology (JCGM) along with BIPM, IEC, IFCC, ISO, IUPAC, IUPAP and OIML. As the JCGM is category A liaison activity Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated will replace ILAC on this Joint Committee in the New Year.
